In the year 2019, I had a short conversation with a family friend at his sisters wedding reception. This conversation wasn't a topic I usually talked about. As a Nigerian, leaving my homeland has never been a thought to cross my mind, but anyway, we talked about leaving Nigeria. At the time, he was planning and making arrangements to move to Canada with his family. I was a single christian girl that had no idea what God had planned for me. Although, I was certain that the life I was living wasn't the life I wanted to live.
Knowing that the little money I made will never be enough to have a good, comfortable life, I knew I needed a change. But that change wasn't leaving Nigeria. I mean, even if I did leave Nigeria, where will I go, who do I know, how will I survive? I didn't even have money to buy a plane ticket, talk more of getting a visa, or going through the vigorous process of money spending in order to leave Nigeria. Therefore, I was 100% sure, japa, wasn't for me.
But I was soooooo wrong!
God surprised me!
But a lot of things happened before I got surprised.
I got dumped by my boyfriend.
I got scammed !
I got broke! and even more broke.
But then God proved, that there is nothing impossible for him.
He used me as an example, to let people know, that his plans for me are for good and not for evil.
Every time I tell people my testimony, they think I'm making it up.
But is that not how God's stories usually are?
Isn't it Jonah that got swallowed by the whale/fish?
Didn't Jesus feed 5000 people with sardine and bread?
Didn't Jesus change water to wine?
Wasn't there a flood that cleared every soul on earth except those God chose to be alive?
When God is involved, your testimony will sound like a fairy tale.
This blog is about my life.
As a christian, a girl, a daughter, and an aunt.
I know I'll never run out of testimonies, therefore I will share as much as I can to encourage anyone that is going through something.
God sees you, he knows, and he will help you.
At the right time.
